Free coach driving experience for mobile

Coach Bus Simulator is a free-to-play simulator from OviLex Software. This driving game lets you experience being in charge of a coach bus, which takes people from one place to another. Here, you learn how to maneuver a large vehicle and how different stages or terrain affect the handling of the vehicle.

With its different locations inspired by real-world places in Europe, Coach Bus Simulator feels like a driving game and a virtual tour in one. Still, with that said, it could use more treacherous terrain like sloping valleys and mountain roads, much like Euro Coach Bus Driving.

A casual driving game

Coach Bus Simulator captures the real driving experience by letting you experience both the internal and external workings of the job. On one side, you get to drive the vehicle from the driver’s seat, featuring a first-person perspective. On the other hand, you also get to view your travels in the third person, showing the landscape and of course, the passengers you get to carry.

Another fun aspect of the game is that it allows for a lot of customization options. From specific models of coach buses to paint jobs that feature specific images or messages on the side, it even lets you customize the text that will appear. This works well with the world it presents, offering a seemingly dynamic weather system that ensures a degree of replayability.

Unfortunately, it suffers from a lack of diversity in terms of stages. While it promises a European trip, it mostly focuses on the city and the suburbs, without referencing the Alps or other, more challenging trips. Most of the challenge comes from navigating narrow city roads. Also, the poor AI makes driving even harder, since they are unrealistic and seem intent on bumping into you.

Challenging, but not in ways you’d expect

If you’re after a bus driving experience that is immersive, largely customizable, and not too challenging on the road, then Coach Bus Simulator is the entry for you. By focusing on the cities instead of naturally dangerous terrains, you experience a different kind of challenge. You maneuver narrow spaces and deal with erratic traffic behavior instead of passing through sharp curves over cliffs.

PROS

  • Features different bus models
  • Wide range of customization options
  • Changing weather system
  • Good cockpit design

CONS

  • Erratic traffic behavior
  • Lacks more scenic locations
